Progress continues on the latest project, which is going to be HUGE! Lots of new original material and special musical guests...so STAY TUNED!

Check out the NEW TUNES available for download on the music page! We're very excited about these tunes as a preview to the next AMC release sometime in the Fall. "Senzoo" is a tribute to my hero, Frank Zappa, and features a horn section. "Bebop Hiphop" is partially inspired by another hero, John Scofield. It's a real jammy kind of tune featuring Jaron Pearlman on drums. The third tune is "Hello Gravity", a Beatle-ish tune, circa Sgt. Pepper period. I'm taking my time with this project, partly because I don't want to rush it, and partly because SO MUCH incredible music is coming out this summer! It seems everyone is in a creative mood, and that's very cool! So, thanks for visiting, and stay tuned!

Most of my time these days is spent either in the studio or playing gigs with The Chuck Lichtenberger Quartet or Chuck & The Archrivals. More info on both of these bands can be found on myspace at www.myspace.com/chucklichtenberger or www.myspace.com/chuckandthearchrivals. On my studio project, I like to bring in various musicians for vocals, keyboards, horns or other parts. I'm very excited about the current project! The music might be categorized as indie/pop/jazz/funk. When you create music, everything you've ever been influenced by becomes part of your style. Keep an eye out for new tunes to be posted on this website as they become available!

Production continues on the next project. It's going to be a BIG one...lots of new tunes, plus a bonus CD of cover tunes. It's a slow process because I lay down the basic trax and then have to actually write out the music for other players for sessions...planning to add flute, sax and other wind instruments. No working title yet, but I'll be adding rough mixes to the music page as they become available. Otherwise, staying really busy playing gigs, mostly with "The Archrivals" (www.myspace.com/chuckandthearchrivals)!

Busy, Busy! LOTS going on. "Hot Hombre" is now #24 Most Original in Instrumental Rock, all-time on garageband.com! Heartfelt thanks to all those nice people from all over the world who wrote kind words of praise. The new tracks are in production, albeit it's a slow process...but you can't rush it. So stay tuned and check back often, especially the music page for in-progress excerpts. Cheers, JP!

It's a little different from the type of music we're into now, since it was written way back in 1995, but it's still fun to watch. Many thanks to Larry and Jaron for helping out!

Just received my custom-made, by the inventor, ZENDRUM, with is a MIDI-controlled device like the one used by Futureman of the Flektones! The company that makes it is run by the two inventors, David & Kim, who are also musicians. Check out their website at www.zendrum.com.
This instrument does not replace acoustic drums, but it gives the composer a new tool which unleashes creativity! Can't wait to record with it. BTW, new tune samples have just been posted on the music page...two cover tunes, and one original...all with vocals. Most of the new tunes will be instrumentals, however, much like the music on Zero Digital Gravity. Speaking of which, the tune "Evaporation" is to be featured on the WNCW public radio CD "Crowd Around The Mike Vol. 11" (www.wncw.org). This is from the Studio B Live performance we did a few months ago! We are honored that they choose to include us on this CD which will be used as a fundraising tool.

IT'S ALMOST FINISHED! The new Alien Music Club CD will be titled "Zero Digital Gravity" and you're gonna love it! All new tunes with a decidedly jazz to jazz fusion edge. There are a few cover tunes by Wayne Shorter, Chuck Mingus, and the Kinks. It's mostly instrumental with a few vocals. All in all, we're very excited about it and can't wait to release it!

New audio clips from the latest project are up on the "Music" page. These are works-in-progress, rough mix excerpts but should be enough to give you an idea of where we're headed, musically.
In other news, Alien Music Club is now available through iTunes. Just type us in the search section of the iTunes homepage!

Here's an excerpt from the press release for the new CD project:
“I had about 14 new tunes and half were instrumental,” says composer and multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Pearlman. “So, I decided to keep the songs with lyrics separate from the music-only ones.” A standout track on Phase 1 is “Pray For The Aliens” which borrows from Green Day & David Bowie. Other tracks bounce from rock to r&b. “Phase 2 is more indicative of the future direction of AMC,” says Pearlman. Cool tracks here like “Velcro Nose Job” and “Little Green Pimp” are just as interesting as their names suggest. CD’s can be purchased online at cdbaby.com or alienmusicclub.com."
